Number of Years

Hello & Happy Sunday!

A late start to my day today after a very restless night.
I ran my ac all day yesterday then at bedtime I decided to turn it off and open the windows.
Big mistake! It was so humid that I just could not get comfortable.
Midnight I got up and closed the house up and turned my ac back on.
This morning it was quite different outside, cloudy, breezy and cool. I like the warm weather but not ready for the humid stuff just yet!

Today I want to share a card I made as part of the last card order.
This is for a woman who it turning 80 years old so I tried to make it colorful & pretty.

I started out stamping the greens and adding the flowers all over my Whisper White panel. Then I was thinking of how to incorporate the 80 on to my card so I whipped up a tag to add the sentiment and my numbers. I popped up my tag on dimensionals and added ribbon/twine to my tag. Last thing I did was add rhinestones to my pink flowers for some sparkle.

Number of Years Card:

Stamps: Number of Years
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White
Accessories: Large Number Framelits, Ornate Tag Topper Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Peekaboo Peach Ruched Ribbon, White Baker's Twine, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Beary Sweet

Hello & Happy Saturday!

What a morning so far!
Thunderstorms rolled thru during the night but this girl never heard a thing!
More rain is in the forecast today but it's to be a warm one, 86 with lots of humidity.
I have the ac running to stay cool and sometime I need to pop out to do some shopping.

Anyways, today I have a yummy treat to show!

I have said that my hubby has a terrible sweet tooth. Just last week he bought a 5 lb bag of Harbo Gummy Bears at the store and it's almost gone. Luckily I was able to get enough to fill these 2 small cello bags that I found in my stash. I also used the stamp set called Just Keep Swimming from the Occasions Mini Catalog to decorate the topper.

I gave these to Shawn & Kelsey yesterday and they both loved them!
I'm not sure if they opened them yet but once they do I know they won't last long!
As for me, I am not a fan of gummy bears at all...

Beary Sweet Treats:

Stamps: Just Keep Swimming
Ink: Real Red, Cucumber Crush, Pumpkin Pie, Tip Top Taupe
Cardstock: Cucumber Crush, Whisper White, Cherry On Top DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Sm Cello Bags (retired), Cucumber Crush Thick Twine, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Mono Adhesive

Thinking of You Card Set

Hello & Happy Friday!

Yesterday was a gorgeous day once the sun made an appearance!
Today is to be another award winning day filled with brilliant sunshine and temps in the 80's!
I'll take it!

Today I have a set of cards to share that I whipped up using the Wetlands set.

I am loving the soft colors on this beachy type of card.
I'm sad that this set is retiring but I guess that really does not affect me since I am not a demo.
This set will still see lots of ink well into the future!

Thinking of You Card Set:

Stamps: Wetlands, Work of Art
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Sky
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Accessories: Lg Oval & Scallop Oval Punches, Soft Sky 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dots, Tombo Mono Adhesive

I also incorporated the tearing technique into these.
I have not done this in a very long time and just love the look it gives my cards!
Another plus for this set is that they will not cost extra in postage! Woohoo!

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Sorry for being missing in action the last few days.
Been busy with things around the house.

Yesterday I did make my way to my stamp table to make a card for one of my favorite challenges, Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Here is the sketch and my card...

Happy Birthday To You Card:

Stamps: Koala Bear-Whipper Snapper, Sunburst Sayings
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Pink Passion, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Doodlebug DSP
Accessories: Lil Inkers Stitched Rectangles, Circle Punches, Daffodil Delight Stitched Ribbon, Rhinestones, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I loved this sketch because I have a thing for a funky or tilted panel!
This was a fun card to create and I love the pops of color from the patterned paper.

You're In My Thoughts Drapery Fold

Hello & Happy Friday!

A dreary morning on tap here.
I think most of our weekend is to be kinda gloomy but we can always use the rain to help bring on those May flowers, right?

Yesterday my hubby & I got out for a nice bike ride! The weather was sunny, 76 degrees and no wind which was perfect conditions! Of course, I was a sweat puddle to we got back to the car but it felt great! Today we may be able to get a walk in as long as Mother Nature holds the rain off until later.

Today I have a card to share that I made a few weeks ago.
I am trying to use up more DSP and some In Color stuff.

I really liked that drapery fold so I had to try it again and added a pretty butterfly stamped with the Papillion Potpourri set and punched it out with the coordinating Butterfly Punch. I know it's kinda hard to see the butterfly with that speckled paper but I thought it looked plain. At the top I added some Watermelon Wonder Lacy Ribbon that I folded in half and tied a simple knot. The space in the right hand corner was just enough to add my sentiment.

You're In My Thoughts Card:

Stamps: Best of Greetings (retired), Papillion Potpourri
Ink: Watermelon Wonder
Cardstock: Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White, Birthday Bouquet DSP (retired)
Accessories: Butterfly Punch, Simply Score Board, Watermelon Wonder Lacy Ribbon, Rhinestones, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I don't think I could ever get tired of using this fold.
It really adds some interest but does use up quite a bit of dsp.

Easter Peeps Box

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Yesterday I was going thru some of my files of things I have made and found this Easter Peep Box that I made this year. I forgot to share this when I was posting my Easter goodies.

I know I am late on sharing this but this could be redone for any occasion. I have 3 packs of these window boxes that were on SU Clearance Rack last year. I put the box together and cut off the one side and adhere with Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue to help make the box sturdier and to keep it together. I added a handle with the Ribbon Border Punch and then decorated. I always make a coordinating little composition book and a RSVP Pen for inside as well as a cello bags of treats. My Peep is a die from Amuse that I have had for quite a few years. Not even sure it's still available but I do think some other companies have something like it now.

Peep Box:

Stamps: Sentiment from Amuse
Ink: Black Memento
Cardstock: Flirty Flamingo, Whisper White, Patterned Paper from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby)
Accessories: Window Boxes, Peep Die- Amuse, Classic Label Punch, Circle & Scallop Circle Punches, Flirty Flamingo Ruched Ribbon, White Pearls, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Springtime Congrats Cards

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

We are halfway to the weekend although tomorrow starts our weekend here since hubby is off the next couple of days! Last weekend he only had Easter day off so it wasn't much of a weekend at all.

Today I have 2 cards to share that were made for my customer.
I told you she keeps me quite busy in the stamp room!
She needed 2 Congratulations cards. One for a family member that was recognized for their years of service at their employment. The other was to keep on hand. She sends cards out almost everyday to people of her church as well as friends & family!

By the time I got to these cards on my "To Make List" I wasn't feeling very creative so I just left the paper do all the work and just added the sentiment.

Congratulations Cards:

Stamps: Sassy Salutations
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Rose Red
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Wild Wasabi, Rose Red, Painted Blooms DSP
Accessories: Hexagon Punch (flag Ends), Wild Wasabi Cotton Twine, Soft Sky 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dot, 2 Sided Tape

She was happy with them and has since asked for more!
Thank God I have more sheets of this certain print! Time to get that DSP used up!

Strawberry Slush Butterfly

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope you've all been enjoying the spring weather we've been having!
Here in PA it got to 83 degrees on Easter Sunday. I was almost ready to throw in the towel and ask for the AC to get put in the window but I managed. Yesterday it cooled down nicely and I decided to go down to my stamp room and do some rearranging and throwing old stuff away. I have a gallon size ziplock bag that is filled with buttons that are in my stash. I don't use them on cards much anymore because of the extra cost in mailing them. I may try to find a new home for them.

Anyways, today I am going to spend the afternoon in my stamp room again. I need to find a better way to store all my 12 x 12 DSP packs. I have tons since I started stamping in 2001. I have 12 x 12 paper holders that I picked up at AC Moore many years ago but they hold all my non SU dsp's and 12 x 12 cardstocks. I really have way toooo much paper!
How do you store your 12 x 12 designer series papers?

So, today I have a quick card to share that I made last week for my customer.
She wanted something springy and for a young lady who was celebrating a birthday.

Since I was on a roll with using my Bold Butterfly Framelits I had to use them again for this card.
Of course all these colors are now retired In Colors but since I still have tons of it in my stash I will continue to use it.

Happy Birthday Card:

Stamps: Crazy About You
Ink: Strawberry Slush
Cardstock: Strawberry Slush, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, All Abloom DSP
Accessories: Bold Butterfly Framlits, Butterfly Embossing Folder, Lg Oval & Scallop Circle Punches, Strawberry Slush Thick Twine, White Pearls, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I even used the Butterfly Embossing Folder on the white panel even though it's hard to see on the photo's. I really need to use this one more often. So pretty!

Happy Easter!

Hello & Happy Sunday!

I don't have any projects to share because it is Easter!

We are to have some very warm temps, in the 80's!
Very odd for Easter but like the rest of the year...our weather has been crazy to say the least.
Air conditioning on Easter is unheard of. It might just be happening here at the Aungst Pad!!

I will be spending the day with my family and wanted to wish you all a happy & blessed Easter day!

Wilderness Awaits

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Up and at it a bit early this morning!
My hubby has to work today....not sure how long but it definitely was enough to mess up any plans that we had to get out on our bikes & ride.
Last evening we headed out to Lake Redman for a quick walk. Made it back to our car just as it started to get dark. Seen lots of deer on the trail.

So today I have a quick card to share that I made for an outdoor dog loving guy!

I pulled out the Wilderness Awaits stamp set for this one. I really like that set with the different wildlife in it.. My papers are from Max & Whiskers collection from Basic Grey that have been in my stash quite awhile. The teal striped piece is American Crafts and I added some Early Espresso Baker's Twine.

Happy Birthday Card:

Stamps: Wilderness Awaits, Designer Tee ( SAB '17)
Ink: Early Espresso
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Whisper White, Max & Whiskers- Basic Grey, Stripe- American Crafts
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Die- Lil Inkers, Classic Label Punch, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, 2 Sided Tape

This card was made at the request of my customer for as she said....and outdoorsy kind of guy who loves dogs! I hope I nailed it with this dog image and fun collection of papers!

My thoughts today....

Sketch Challenge 640

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Yesterday I made my way to my stamp table and decided to play along with the Sketch Challenge over at SCS.

Here is the layout and my card...

I made this card for a dear friend who's birthday was last week and I had no energy to create a card for her at the time. I hope she doesn't mind that it's a bit late.
I wasn't really keen on this particular sheet of dsp but went with it anyway. I am trying hard to use up what I have in my stash.

SC640~ Happy Birthday!

Stamps: Birthday Greetings (2001)
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Cardstock: Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Moonlight DSP
Accessories: Bold Butterfly Framelits, Flower Punch, Ornate Tag Topper Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Daffodil Delight Stitched Ribbon, White Baker's Twine, White Pearls, Glue Dots, 2 Sided Tape

I do like the springy colors and that beautiful butterfly, just not sure on that dsp print.
Guess it doesn't matter now, it's already in the mail to it's destination!
Happy Belated Birthday, Pam!

Jelly Beans

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope everyone had a chance to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather yesterday!
It was so nice having windows open to let the fresh air blow thru!
Even the girls (Gigi & Bailee) loved being able to play out in the yard.

Today I have one last sweet treat to share that I whipped up using one of Easter's yummy candies, jelly beans!

Take a look...

I had these cone shaped cello bags in my stash from last year's SU Occasions Mini catalog.
Last year I filled a bunch with Easter M&M's for the Spring Show I participated in and they all sold. This year I decided to use jelly beans instead. I thought about filling the cello bags with cheese balls so they would resemble carrots but I quickly changed my mind since I absolutely love cheese balls! I probably would have ate the whole bag before the cello bags even got filled! Haha! The jelly beans worked perfectly along with this cute stamp that I picked up from DRS Designs.

A belly full of jelly beans can make a bunny sweet,
Easter wouldn't be the same without this tasty treat.
More colors than a rainbow,
from pink to green and blue.
Be sure to grab a handful,
'cause your som'bunny too!

Jelly Bean Treats:

Stamps: Basket Bunch (bunny), Saying from DRS Designs
Ink: Memento Black, SU Markers
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Neenah White
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Square & Scallop Square Nestibilities, Polka Dot Cone Shaped Cello Bags (retired), Daffodil Delight Stitched Ribbon, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I got these bags filled just in time....my hubby was on the prowl for some jelly beans one evening and asked if I used all of them since I bought them in bulk at a local store. These bags hold quite a bit so I think he was surprised that I used them all! He has a terrible sweet tooth!

Springtime Tulips

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday!

Wasn't yesterday a beautiful day with the brilliant sunshine and temps hitting 80 degrees!?
That kind of weather puts a spring in your step!
Since I have been under the weather & throwing my back out of wack in the last few weeks I spent the day working on getting some housework done that's been on the back burner.
Today we are in for another 80 degree day with some rain this evening and then our temps will drop back to normal. Hope you get to enjoy it while it's here!

I have the last pack of cards to share that I made my customer.
She asked for 4 packs and in trying to keep them springy, this is what I created for her.

The stamp set I used is Terrific Tulips.....definitely an oldie but a goodie!!

Since Terrific Tulips is a 2 Step stamp set I kept this very simple with my flowers in Blushing Bride and Old Olive for the stems & leaves. I added a piece of Blushing Bride Twine that I tied around my white panel and finished with a simple bow. Nothing was popped up. The sentiment comes from the Easter Blossoms stamp set which is also retired.
I kept wanting to add to my card...rhinestones, pearls, butterflies...but in the end "less is more" won out!

Happy Easter Card Set:

Stamps: Terrific Tulips, Easter Blossoms (sentiment)
Ink: Blushing Bride, Old Olive, Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Accessories: Blushing Bride Twine, Stamp A Ma Jig, 2 Sided Tape

I actually like how simple this card is and so pretty in these colors!

WooHoo!

That is all for today!
